ACTION DIRECTE - COMMUNIQUE 'COUP POUR COUP'
JUNE 2010
Welcome comrades to the next phase in the musical guerilla campaign of Action Directe. After celebrating their first ten years of active duty with friends old and new in Leeds in May, the band is rejuvenated and ready for a more vigorous engagement with the ConDemNation that is UK2010.
ELECTRO-BOURGEOIS DEVIATIONS DEFEATED!
The Action Directe Politburo met on the 30th May in the shelter
of a Leeds bar side room, where they frankly discussed the
achievements and limitations of the bands current position. After
much criticism and self-criticism, it was agreed that the
internal power vacuum that led to the electro-bourgeois
deviations of the 'Vanguard' album were a mistake, for which
Comrade Heyes has to take full responsibility. It was the
unanimous agreement of the committee that Action Directe had to
reclaim their position at the forefront of industrial punk, with
renewed political zeal and musical aggression, and that these
were too important a time of social struggle and upheaval to
derail the band into escapist retro-futurist dead ends. With a
line now drawn under the previous four years, Action Directe are
now ready to pick off where they left off with the 'Intervention'
album in 2006 and reclaim their position leading the digital
resistance.
BUILDING THE DIGITAL RESISTANCE!
So the rest of 2010 will see the band up the momentum and regain
the initiative. We can confirm that there will be a new Action
Directe released in October, which will set the record straight
and set the new standard for industrial anarcho-punk, which will
be preceded in August by a new single taken from the album. We
are also pleased to announce that Action Directe will be widening
the resistance on a UK tour starting in September, which will
continue through to November.
Whilst the band is their targets to their UK2010 campaign, there is still the matter of some housekeeping to attend to. We are sorry for announce that the band's drummer man AntiAndy has left Action Directe for pastures new, and the band wish him all the best for the future. In order to prepare for the future and adjust to new circumstances, the core trio of Action Directe - Joel Heyes, Danny Carnage and Charlotte Winchcombe - are looking to bolster their sound and line-up, and are looking at various methods of doing so. More news, as they say, when we get it...
By way of preparing for future live operations, Action Directe are dusting off the barbed wire and berets and will be undergoing preliminary performances at the following venues:
Fri 4th June - Newcastle Head of Steam (w/Death
By Electro Giants, Death Emitting Diode & Superhcharger) -
FREE GIG!
Sat 24th July - Leeds Bar Santiagos - Yob-Goth.com Relaunch and
Summer Party w/Spekulus and The Last Cry - £3 Entry
But first....
NORTH KOREA'S DREAMING!
In order to have one final indulgence before the big push, we can
confirm that Action Directe will be releasing a special AA-side
online single to celebrate the achievements of the DPRK in
reaching the World Cup final. In order to commemorate the
achievements of North Korea, Action Directe will be unveiling
their unofficial North Korean World Cup anthem, 'Juche Dance (Action
Directe Megamix by HGV)' as well as a brand new track, 'Singing
For The Clampdown'. The band promise that the tracks will be
available online at www.actiondirecte.co.uk before a ball in
kicked on the 11th June!
Until then - get some rest (you'll need it!) and watch this space.
